This is what my heart says

When it rains

It’s those times when thoughts just creeps in. For those who just wanna go someplace where no one knows your name.

Brands and social media

Recently the meetings i have been, revolves around the issue of social media. Everyone seems to talk about putting a social media element to their websites. But wait, hold on, do you really know what you are actually getting into?

Everyone right now is trying to hop into this big social media ball game, but if i may, make a bold statement, social media is just a big bubble, It is getting huge and as all things, it is going to burst somehow. Why? It’s because the Internet isn’t connecting us as much as we think it is. It’s largely home to weak, artificial connections, what I call thin relationships. Continue reading…

The surprising truth about what motivates us

Career satisfaction, life-work balance, the reality of the changing workplace, and understanding personal goals and priorities has been emotionally draining for many as we surface from the economic crisis.

Recently we’ve seen books like What’s Next Gen X?, the film Lemonade, 37signals’s 4 day work week, Frog’s latest issue of design mind, and numerous others explore these issues — and on the flip side — companies large and small are constantly looking at new ways to attract talent, and retain it!

In the video above, author Daniel Pink cites 50 years worth of behavioral science research demonstrating that money is only a motivating factor to a point for getting good results. After that people seek autonomy, mastery and purpose to be fully productive and indeed happy. Side note — love the animation that accompanies this talk, originally given at the RSA in London, January 2010.

Don’t just rely on technology

Coming to age during this technological shift offered us the opportunity to watch giants cripple themselves as they stood unwilling to bend to a changing wind.

For this perspective, we are incredibly fortunate.

As you lay the groundwork for your own empire, remember that your foundation will always be people, not technology. Always remember the idea comes first.

The cycle of time

Everything in life seems like a cycle, especially when it comes to work. So it does seem like the solution is to make less complex about human interaction. Do you face similar situations daily?

I do.

I think i need one of these, so as to prevent stupid people from asking us to do work which are not productive/creative/innovative at all.

It’s one of those days again

Some clients just don’t understand the importance of aesthetics and concepts when it comes to branding. It’s not like shopping in a convenience store, where you can mix and match your weekly branding menu. Well so it’s one of those days again. A word of enlightenment, bad clients take up more of our time than they should.
