Google Music has just launched, but unfortunately only into the cloud above US territory. B-Reel, responsible for the Google Music Tour, managed to cleverly combine embedded audio with dynamic, audio-reactive animations.

The project took 22 months to complete and a behind the scenes look at the process can be seen below. It took 1,357 hours of hard work and a ‘jelly bean animation team’ that consisted of over 30 people.

Nokia has just teamed up with the guys from Chromeo to not only create the worlds shortest album, but to create the worlds first navigation system that gives directions through song.

The video above is a great little content piece about making the new “Drive Time” album for Nokia Ovi Maps navigation, and forms part of a wider campaign promoting the fact that Nokia actually lets you record and create your own custom navigation directions/voices. Using an algorithm which parses one million records per day, the MTV Music Meter provides a ranking of the internets most talked about and fast moving tunes. For each artist in the ranking, the Meter provides news, tweets, video and enables purchase.  The platform also provides a “Pandora-like” function which links to music suggestions and other similar artists. Did i mention that i will be on iOS and Android soon?

Interactive beat machine for Robyn that enables the user to lay down all sorts of crazy ass rhythms and sounds on her new track. The interface is particularly rubbish, but the concept, visual and type treatments are all very interesting.

Remixes can be personalised and added to the stream.

One Hello World lets you leave a voicemail and the people will write the music behind that messages narrative. They call it a soundtrack to your thoughts. Kinda neat.
