Lomo spinner

This week Lomography will introduce their new Spinner 360 panoramic camera. The fully mechanic camera captures infinite panoramic shots on 35mm film. You just have to pull the trigger cord and the camera does all the rest for you and exposes the full width of a film role. Hmm, making my hands itch of one.

Time lapse through Japan

With voyage through Japan thanks to this video superb in time-lapse entitled “Hayaku” by Brad Kremer. Many catches off sights carried out in Tokyo, Matsuyama, Imabari, Nagano, Gifu and Ishizushisan. Sweet.

Wander and wonder

A beautiful collection of nicely directed and shot photos from artist Jeremy Blincoe. It expresses and captures the innocence of childhood through setting in dark scenes in full nature. Mesmerizing indeed.

Living on the streets

Nicely art directed campaign by the agency Publicis Counseil for Social Samu. Disturbing yet impactful. Vision of Marc Paeps.

Jim Ficus

Known for his pioneering work integrating conceptual photography and computer generated imagery, Jim Fiscus has produced award-winning images for Levi’s, Showtime, Nike, ESPN and many others. Voted International Photographer of the year in 2006, his work has landed two Communication Arts covers and multiple articles. Fiscus was named #1 photographer in the United Kingdom in 2008 by industry bellwether Campaign for his highly-narrative and provocative work for Channel 4. A native Texan, Fiscus lives in the eccentric southern town of Athens, Georgia.

Thru the lens

Recognized as one of Sydney’s most exciting emerging photographic talents, Jonathan imbues his subjects with humour and poignancy. His instinctual ability to take a concept and tell a fascinating visual story is both innovative and compelling. Was blown away by his rich portfolio and many original compositions like these series of portraits, landscapes and customer orders.

A blind camera

Taking a photo means making a memory. Choosing a moment in time and framing a situation. Archiving it or making it public. Buttons takes on this notion of the camera as a networked object. It is a camera that will capture amoment at the press of a button. However, unlike a conventional analog or digital camera, this one doesn’t have any optical parts. It allows you to capture your moment but in doing so, it effectively seperates it from the subject. Instead, as you will memorize the moment, the camera memorizes only the time and starts to continuously search on the net for other photos that have been taken in the very same moment. As the saying goes, the picture completes the moment, no matter what it is. Nice art project by Sascha Pohflepp.

Star wars in urban settings

French photographer Cédric Delsaux created these images using Dubai as the backdrop. Pretty awesome, check out his site for more work.

Impactgraphy

For the past couple years Jason Scott have been shooting many cosmetics images for commercial application. After shooting so many fragrance products, he feel that they began to all blend into each other one after another. They were all a liquid in a bottle. Although the bottles changed shape and the scent changed smell visually the basic concept was becoming stale.

Therefore he decided to shoot the fragrances without actually shooting the fragrance product as it is package for commercial consumption. From this idea we designed a series of images to represent intangible qualities the perfumes pocess. This series was inspired by and depicts the new Marc Jacobs Lola perfume. We attempt to photograph the product without actually photographing the product but rather the ideas and emotions that combine to create the product. The intangible qualities that are the essence of any physical product are reinterpreted and expressed here in this series of images. Neat.

Macro dreams

I am extreme delighted to find that there is a new lens out for macro shooting. Awaited long from enthusiastic photographers worldwide, the new LEICA DG MACRO-ELMARIT 45mm / F2.8 ASPH. / MEGA O.I.S. boasts a superb image quality with minimum distortion, chromatic aberrations as well as ghosts and flares that passes a stringent Leica standard to goes beyond their expectations.

The new lens system uses both an aspherical lens and an ED len in its fourteen lenses in ten groups to realize outstanding compactness, taking advantage+ of the Micro Four Thirds standard to achieve dramatic downsizing while minimizing distortion and chromatic aberration.

Something that fits into my pocket very well.
